Until recently I’d forgotten how much Internet Explorer lags behind in the browser stakes from a user perspective as opposed to a developer perspective. No tabs, no mouse gestures, minimal customisation of menus. Rubbish. Of course, you can get MyIE2 to cure most of these ills, but then that comes with its own bloat, including over-complicated menus and preferences dialogs, inconsistent interna...

The Firebird menubar is extremely configurable, and you can put anything just about anywhere, including the Home/Refresh buttons to the same line as the File/Edit menus. This is great for me, previously I had the main menu bar, navigation/address bar, my bookma...

I was wrong when I said Firebird was now providing all my needs. This is because Firebird doesn’t currently support Mozilla sidebars. Under Moz, my sidebar looks like this. Under Firebird I just only have the default choice of “Downloads”...

Firebird I finally decided to give Firebird a proper go at the end of last week, and it was doing very very well, having become my default browser by virtue of being better and faster than full Mozilla (my previous default browser) in all but one way. That way was that Jesse Ruderman’s edit CSS boo...

Netscape is dead. Everyone’s shouting it from the rooftops, and if it wasn’t such a major thing I’d assume it was covered well enough in other places. Comments
